Staff Accountant and Human Resource Administrator
Status: Full Time, Year Round
Reports to: CEO
Purpose/ Objective: Responsible for managing various budgets, day to day oversight of various accounts, account transfers, preparing monthly and quarterly reports, meeting with the company accountant. Responsible for employee files, placing job ads, interviewing prospective candidates, preparing forms for employee reviews. In addition, this position may be called upon to perform other related duties as may be required from time to time by the Colony Operations.
Duties/ Responsibilities: • Manages accounting budgets for Colony Operations and The Colony HOA • Assesses daily balances for various bank accounts and credit cards • Manages financial transactions, accounts receivable and accounts payable • Prepares financial reports and reconciliations • Identifies legal requirements affecting human resource functions • Ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance with policies and procedures • Maintains current employment law posters • Advises management of appropriate resolutions to employee relation issues • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs • Oversees employee files; tracks employee information and maintains shred schedules • Oversees benefits schedule, employee review schedules, etc. • Hiring and onboarding assistance; placement of job ads and new employee orientations • Assists CEO with various projects and assignments • Other duties as requested
Physical Requirements: • Sitting for extended periods of time and use of keyboard and mouse • Ability to communicate effectively via telephone and email correspondence Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other appropriate discipline and three to five years of relevant business experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired • Superb administrative and organizational skills • Proficiency in QuickBooks • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel & Word • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and complete projects in a timely manner
